The new edition of IUNE Observatory is available (http://www.iune.es/ ). Since 2012 and coordinated by Laboratory for Metric Information Studies (LEMI) of Carlos III University of Madrid, IUNE carries out a monitoring of R&D&I developed by Spanish universities. IUNE was created in the framework of 4 Universities Alliance (A4U) composed of Autonomous University of Madrid, Autonomous University of Barcelona, Carlos III University of Madrid and Pompeu Fabra.
This new edition covers the 2008-2017 period and includes the activity of universities with a wide range of indicators relating to scientific activity (production and productivity, collaboration, impact and visibility), innovation, competitiveness, teaching, recognition, financing and training capacity.
Data are obtained from official sources, such as the Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI), the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), the National Statistics Institute (INE), the Centre for Industrial Technical Development (CDTI), the OTRI Network (CRUE), the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM), the SIIU (Integral University Information System) and the Web of Science (WoS) platform for data relating to publications.
A report is included with the results obtained in the decade analysed and also with a comparison with the most significant indicators that cover from the decade 2003-2012 to the current one: number of teachers, productivity, documents in international collaboration, documents in the first quartile and public expenditure on education (http://www.informes.iune.es/Informe%20IUNE%202019.pdf)
